Dr. Jeff Scarella has been the director of the T Bar M Wellness Center since 2008. He specializes in sport related injuries and soft tissue rehabilitation. He received his under graduate degree in exercise physiology from Florida State University and his Chiropractic Degree from Parker University. He is certified in A.R.T. (active release technique) and Graston Therapy. He utilizes many different chiropractic techniques catered specifically to the patient and their injury.
Rammell Nwaokai, Athletic/Rehabilitation Trainer
Rammell Nwaokai MS, CSCS, LMT, ART, PES, CES, FMT, MCT, FKTR; completed his Master of Science in Kinesiology from California University of Pennsylvania, his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University, and his Associates of Science from Kishwaukee College; where he played collegiate basketball before commissioning in the US Army.
Rammell’s innovative approach and devotion to pursuing and communicating on the most credible and effective soft tissue treatments have resulted in several relationships with medical and healthcare providers throughout the country. Building upon his strong belief in continuing education and a multidisciplinary approach, he became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) through Parker University and graduated with honors.
He holds certifications with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES); credentials both endorsed by the exclusive National Basketball Athletic Trainers’ Association and grounded in evidence-based science.
In manual therapy he is an Advanced RocDoc Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) Practitioner with Rock Tape, Functional and Kinetic Therapy with Rehab (FAKTR) instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), Cupping Massage Therapy, Active Release Techniques (ART), Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Stretching (PNF), and is a Myofascial Compression Therapist (MCT) through the world renowned Trigger Point Therapy Company.
Leroy Sam, Athletic Trainer/Massage Therapist
Leroy Sam ATC, LAT, LMT; has a Master's of Science Degree in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training. He is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and state Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) through the National Board of Certification (BOC) and the Department of Health for the State of Texas (DSHS) respectively. As a recognized healthcare provider by the American Medical Association (AMA), Leroy collaborates with physicians, physical therapist, chiropractors and other health care providers to optimize activity and return to work or sport of patients and athletes. The profession of an athletic trainer encompasses the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and intervention of first aid and emergency care of acute and chronic medical conditions involving muscular imbalances, functional movement limitations and pain control. Leroy is also a certified personal trainer, licensed massage therapist, and certified flexibility therapist and utilizes his expertise in the different fields of study to address clients' specific needs. Over the last 13 years, Leroy has worked with a variety of healthcare professionals and understands the importance of having a referral system and fostering healthy relationships with other healthcare providers. He has worked with middle school, high school, and Division I collegiate athletes with various upper and lower body acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. He has worked with professional tennis players, baseball players, football players, elite runners and equestrian riders as personal clients or in a sports medicine clinic. Along the way he has acquired industry leading techniques like Active Release Technique (ART) and Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) which are used by athletes in the NFL, NBA, NHL, ATP/WTA, FIFA and triathletes to name a few sports. Based on his diverse background he utilizes a holistic approach to treatment, rehabilitation and integration of exercise with his clients. This assessment approach focus on improving joint stability, tissue extensibility, and improved movement quality which helps decrease dysfunctional movement and pain. Leroy understands that each of us has a specific set of skills, but how collectively it is beneficial to the patients and the organization to provide the highest quality of service.
Lisa Pecha, Athletic Trainer
Lisa Pecha has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Education with a concentration in math and science. Teaching and fitness have always been a passion for Lisa, so in 2002 she completed her American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer certification.
Over the years, she has taken classes to increase her knowledge base and make her a more effective trainer. She holds specialty certifications in Pilates for personal trainers, pre-natal and post-natal training, women specific strength training, sports nutrition, group cycling, and youth fitness training.
As an athlete, Lisa enjoys running in half marathons and competing in triathlons. She believes it is good to set personal goals and she encourages her clients to do the same. Through her experience as an athlete and personal trainer, Lisa helps her clients succeed through individualized training plans which promote strength and muscle tone, decrease body fat, build core stability, increase flexibility, and
improve cardiovascular endurance. Lisa believes any goal is achievable, through hard work and commitment.
Reggie Carthon, Athletic Trainer
Reggie Carthon is a retired professional football player of eight years. Currently he is working with junior athletes as a certified fitness expert. He has a passion for youth fitness as well as anyone looking to better themselves physically and mentally for sports, fitness or overall health. He is a no nonsense trainer that gives 100% and
expects no less in return. Reggie is also a certified spin instructor and a certified
Vicki Jordan, Athletic Trainer
Vicki Jordan was born and raised in New Zealand, where she attained a Top 5 Junior Ranking. She played her collegiate tennis at Baylor University. Vicki has over 16 years of teaching experience and enjoys teaching any age and level of ability.
Off the court, Vicki has a huge passion for fitness and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She can assess your game on the court and create a personalized training program to improve your game and overall health and well being.
Harry Stewart, Athletic Trainer
Harry Stewart is from Tyler, TX and played college tennis at Grambling State University from 1995-1998. He specializes in toning including body fat loss and lean muscle development, as well as postural and muscular imbalance correction. His training program includes individualized nutritional support, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, core strengthening and resistance training. Harry offers a wide array of training techniques for specific goals. Whether it is contest training, injury correction or sport specific, he will be your fitness expert with continuous support inside and outside the gym. “I promise to keep you educated, motivated, and accountable. My training approach is “Functional Aesthetics” – I want you to look good, feel good and do it the right way.”
Shawna Beamon, Office Manager
Shawna Beamon is the Athletic Center Office Manager. Along with managing offices she has also been an insurance verification specialist, insuring that she will be able to answer any questions regarding medical insurance you may have.
